Sherry Palencia, President, Argentine Tango Lovers of Long Island, and Vice President Carmen Quintero came to Breast Cancer Help, Inc. on November 16 to present a check in the amount of $1,000 to Lorraine Pace, Co-President, Breast Cancer Help. The money given by Argentine Tango Lovers, which is based in Westbury, was a combination of monies donated by the organization and through funds raised this past year.
Ms. Palencia is a breast cancer survivor. This past May, she came to the Breast Cancer Help and Wellness Center in Bay Shore, where she enrolled in classes and support groups. Ms. Palencia thanked the staff at the Help and Wellness Center for providing her the information she needed and, above all, for the encouragement she needed to get through her difficult ordeal.

Breast Cancer Help, Inc. is a not-for-profit grass roots organization with a focus on action and advocacy to eradicate breast cancer. Founded in 1994 by Lorraine Pace, a two time breast cancer survivor, and Father Thomas Arnao, Breast Cancer Help, Inc. uses a four pronged approach to promoting education and awareness of breast cancer issues. In 2003, Breast Cancer Help opened its Long Island Cancer Help and Wellness Center to provide increased cancer awareness to promote education and early detection while providing patients and survivors with much needed support.
