November 13, 2009 the Small Business Development Center at Georgia State University graduated 23 business owners from the FastTrac Growth Venture Class. Milton Kirby, president of Allied Logistics, Inc. was among the graduates.
The FastTrac Growth Venture Class, provided the entrepreneur participants step-by-step guidance that helps small businesses survive and prosper. The program equips participants with tools and knowledge to make critical decisions about their business vision and strategy, to investigate next-stage growth and opportunities, to plan for strategic growth, to build and maintain a competitive advantage, to lead with clarity and to maximize cash flow for future profitability.
The program also teaches participants how to become a self-diagnosing consultant with the tools to evaluate and integrate their businesses the way large corporations do. Along with faculty and classmates, Mr. Kirby worked through customer-focused strategy and planning, organizational leadership and performance evaluation, cash and human resource management, and systems and process implementation and monitoring.
According to Kirby, the FastTrac instructors and guest lecturers provided frameworks for success and provided practical solutions oriented approaches to put those frameworks into practice. The program included structured class sessions, case discussions, small-group activities, and simulations.
The Georgia State University SBDC program faculty included facilitator Tim Fulton, Bernie Meineke, Regional/Area Director, Lloyd Atkins, Peter Rassel and Erica Bracey.
As a graduate of the program, Milton Kirby now joins the ranks of the FastTrac network of more than 300,000 entrepreneur participants.
