Form mail spammer, Ifundcard.com was stopped in its tracks last week it bumped into Pegasus Ventures Michigan. Randy Dewey, vice president of the West Michigan based website design company said, " We make it a policy to intercept formmail spamming and stop it whenever possible."
Form mail spam is when a spammer goes on your website and uses a contact us are other form to solicit business, and from time to time the spammer can be a con artist. Dewey said, " one of our clients received a spam mail from Ifundcard.com, and we're reached out to him to ask him not to use our client websites for spam. The contact we had with owner, Jeffrey Allen, was bizarre to say the least. Mr. Allen attempted to get us to believe his activities were appropriate because he was working on behalf of nonprofit organizations. Despite informing him that is against the law to spam people with whom you have no business relationship, Mr. Allen had many excuses in many races why his activities were appropriate."
Pegasus Ventures Michigan decided to do some more research into this company. By viewing their website it appeared they had a relationship with the American Cancer Society, Federal Express, UPS, Jets Pizza, and many other companies. Pegasus Ventures Michigan contacted the cancer society in Grand Rapids who was unaware of this company.
The American Cancer Society asked Pegasus Ventures to contact their state office in Lansing. It was later determined Ifundcard.com had no relationship with the cancer society.
Dewey went on to say, " A a courtesy we're reached out to Hiral Patel, the web site designer for a Ifundcard .Com. We we wanted to let him know how the website was being used and that there was no relationship with the cancer society. We were floored when this website designer told us he did not care how Mr. Allen use the cancer society logo."
Pegasus Ventures Michigan went on to contact other companies listed on the Ifundcard .Com site to let them know their logos were being used by this company, as well as to inform them of the violation of the use of the cancer society logo.
Several the companies may contact with Ifundcard .Com and demanded there will ogos be removed from the website. Dewey said, " while I'm sure that Mr. Patel and Mr. Allen were not happy about our actions, it is better to operate your business appropriately within the boundaries of the law."
Dewey ended by saying, " one of the benefits of having so many clients in one geographic area is there are times when we can bring a stop to inappropriate activity. In this case Mr. Patel and Mr. Allen know when they jump on a web site it may be a Pegasus Ventures client website. Hopefully in the future they will conduct their business well within the boundaries of the laws of this state."
