What happening?
Oakland's Nnamdi Asomugha has developed into the league's best all-around cornerback. He gets to show off his talents against one of the game's most-explosive receivers in Chad Ochocinco. Asomugha burst into national prominence the last time these teams played by recording two of his eight interceptions that season. If nothing else, this game will be interesting to see how often Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer throws toward Ochocinco, or whichever receiver is being covered by Asomugha.
The Bengals are seeking to establish themselves as one of the league's most-dominant teams. Doing so entails beating up on struggling teams such as the Raiders. They realize that the Raiders offense is among the league's least-productive units and they will seek to take advantage of their disarray by blitzing as often as possible.
The Raiders are attempting to avoid a seventh straight season of at least 11 losses. They need to find a way to win at least four of their final seven games to achieve that goal. Coach Tom Cable realizes that he doesn't have much to lose at this point, so he figures to use an aggressive offensive game plan against the Bengals in hopes of catching them off guard with a handful of plays that the Raiders haven't run yet this season and by turning loose his quarterback more so than he has in any game so far.
