New Web Based Mental Health Program Available To United States Veterans And Current Service Members

Vets Prevail Helps U.S. Military Service Members Combat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Provides Seamless Reintegration Training-Online, At No Charge

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Nov 20, 2009 – Prevail Health Solutions LLC has recently launched a cutting edge weekly, session-based online mental health program at www.VetsPrevail.com. The convenient and completely anonymous program promotes resiliency against developing deployment related mental health issues including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression while assisting with re-integration into civilian life. VetsPrevail.com went live on Veterans Day with the campaign "WE Prevail."  This successful online drive promoted a message to the Military Community that they are not alone and that access to help is now immediately available on their personal computers. Awareness for "WE Prevail" was generated through online forums, blogs and social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. Additionally, "You're Not Alone," an online video promoting a call to action, was circulated to explain the need for Vets Prevail. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE35-I3rDKQ). The launch was sponsored by Major League Baseball and the McCormick Foundation, who have supported this effort through a grant to the Veterans' Corporation, Inc.

"The current mental health care crisis facing our service members is a very real problem with very real consequences. As a veteran-owned company, we have a personal stake in the matter and intend to make our solution available without ever charging a veteran or military family member,” says Richard Gengler, CEO and Co Founder of Prevail. "We are seeking additional funding so we can keep going until every Veteran gets effective care - long after Veterans Day."

University research has shown that although mental health care is available through the Veterans Administration, less than a quarter of veterans actually receive it, either because they refuse to seek help or do not have practical access. However, through comprehensive training tools combined with the convenience, anonymity and vast power of the Internet, Veterans will now be able to privately practice exercises specifically geared toward acclimating them to the world at home. There are no waiting rooms, and there is zero risk of embarrassment.

Following its Veterans Day launch, other highly useful services will be available at VetsPrevail.com such as the online Veteran Community, where veteran and veteran supporters can Connect, Commit and Prevail.  The Community will feature forums, blogs and multimedia content.  This will provide a supportive environment where veterans and supporters can go for information and advice regarding all post deployment needs.

Prevail Health Solutions LLC is a Health 2.0 company founded in January 2008 by Richard Gengler and Roger Sweis, then MBA students at University of Chicago.  The company was created to provide effective and accessible mental health care to the growing number of soldiers and National Guard members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Gengler, a former US Navy pilot, and Sweis, the former CEO of Oak Forest Psychological Services, combined their backgrounds to create a unique delivery model to bring mental health resources to returning troops. Prevail’s technology platform was built with the assistance of funding from the National Science Foundation’s Small Business Innovation Research Program
