Nov. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Myers Contemporary, an Annapolis-based gallery of contemporary artwork, will be exhibiting for the second year at the prestigious Red Dot Art Fair during Art Basel Miami, December 3-6. Their exhibit will be in the Wynwood Art District at 2011 NE 1st Avenue at 31st Street. Myers Contemporary will be one of over 30 exhibitors in the Red Dot Art Fair during what is considered the most important and significant art show in the United States. Myers Contemporary will be featuring pieces from a select group of internationally recognized artists and emerging artists whose work represents distinct facets of the contemporary art scene.

Art consultants, interior designers, and contemporary art aficionados will recognize the talent that Myers Contemporary will have on display at Red Dot. David Kessler’s unmistakable paintings on metal showcase the careful technique of working with refracted light, wire brushes, and paint to create what the artist describes as “post-modern context.” Kessler’s work can be found in museums in the U.S. and Europe, including in the permanent collections of the Strasbourg Contemporary Museum of Art. In addition to Kessler’s paintings on metal, Myers Contemporary will display the work of New Orleans artist George Dunbar. Dunbar’s work takes the form of sculptures, paintings, and clay and his ability to capture dimension in all forms of art has earned his work prominent placement in buildings and galleries throughout the Gulf Coast as well as the world.

Visitors to the Myers Contemporary exhibit will also see select pieces of artwork by Anke Schofield and Lisa Nankivil. The contemporary pieces of these two artists bring vibrant color and textures to the palette of work displayed by Myers Contemporary and contribute to a well-rounded selection of quality pieces for the discriminating contemporary art enthusiast. Nankivil’s oil paintings on canvas are the result of her skill in using color in such an abstract way as to “explore the subjective nature of perception.” Schofield’s work is inspired by her background in photography and she describes her fine art paintings as a “blend of texture with composition.”

Myers Contemporary is uniquely qualified to bring together paintings, sculptures, and exclusive art productions that portray various interpretations of contemporary art. The gallery is rooted in publishing and distributing original works of art and exhibiting at Red Dot is an opportunity for Myers Contemporary to present the work of talented artists whose paintings and sculptures embody the entire creative process from concept to creation.

Mark Myers, owner and president of Myers Contemporary, is enthusiastic about his return to Red Dot this year.  “Despite the market last year, I was pleased with our sales at Red Dot and look forward to returning this year to showcase an impressive range of artists and their work,” says Myers. The Myers Contemporary exhibit at the Red Dot Art Fair will be in the Wynwood Art District at 2011 NE 1st Avenue at 31st Street, December 3-6.
