As darkness fell over Sarasota and the full moon rose, Halloween zombies took a break from dining on brains and came together to thrill the world with their dance moves.
Shuffling through St. Armands Circle, nearly 60 undead students of Sarasota High School DramaGuild convened in front of the Foxy Lady. As the spirits of Vincent Price and Michael Jackson took over their bodies and they began to move.
A large and lively audience stopped to watch the undead dance to the Michael Jackson classic Thriller and some even stayed to dance and take pictures with the students after the show. Donations from the crowd were collected in order to help their dreams of a huge spring production come true.
Sarasota High School DramaGuild needs $5,000 in sponsorship dollars to begin work on the production and is asking local supporters, parents and corporations to get involved, make donations or become corporate sponsors to make the show a reality. Sponsors will be promoted loud and large through the many venues that the school drama department uses.
The 2010 spring show will be rated by the Asolo Repertory Guild. Such ratings aid students in getting scholarships or bragging rights at auditions.

• Thriller on the football field (out of costume, dance only) after Friday’s November 13 football game at SHS.
• An interactive Murder Mystery performance will be running December 8 -11 at 7 p.m. on the SHS stage.
