MurphyCatton, Inc. was chosen by E.ON-US, the U.S. subsidiary of the German based energy company, to partner in the development of a ‘first of its kind’ Energy Education Center. The Center will provide an array of learning resources and will focus on educating the general public on energy conservation.
E.ON-US, headquartered in Louisville, KY, is a subsidiary of E.ON A.G., the world’s largest investor-owned energy services provider. As one of nation’s lowest-cost energy providers, E.ON is known in the industry for their innovation in efficient energy production. With an outstanding energy education program already established, E.ON-US took the next step by selecting local fabrication firm, MurphyCatton, Inc. in combination with design firm, Lee H. Skolnick Architecture+
MurphyCatton, Inc. and LHSA+DP have just begun providing architecture evaluation consultation and concept design to E.ON-US for the planned center. LHSA+DP brings a unique fusion of architecture and exhibition design capabilities to the project. In addition, MurphyCatton, Inc.’s outstanding experience and reputation in the areas of exhibition development and fabrication makes this project one the public should keep their eyes on. The Center will be LEED certified and will incorporate many of energy conservation techniques it will showcase in the Center’s exhibitions.
The projected 55,000 square foot facility will be renovated from an existing building and will serve as an incubation facility for evaluating the newest energy technology, efficient applications, and education. Initially the Center is aimed at providing a venue for local schools and consumer base to learn about the importance of energy conservation. The proposed Center can also be a travel destination for nearby out-of-towners looking for an energy focused, education attraction during their extended weekend getaway.
