The governments of both Alberta and Saskatchewan put oil and gas exploration rights up for lease in land sales on a frequent basis. One of the issues that oil and gas companies have is in reviewing the crown land sale properties to determine if there are any lands that they would like to bid on, or if there are any lands that are up for lease that adjoin their current producing lands. This process is typically done with a public data feed with a mapping interface and a lot of time to scout these potential opportunities.
Argentis Group has come out with a free service were registered recipients receive a copy via email of all wells or offset wells that surround the current land sales for Alberta and Saskatchewan within a section basis. “Companies are being asked to do more with less staff, so Argentis Group decided to do a lot of the heavy lifting by identifying the surrounding or offset wells for the oil and gas companies so that they can focus on the more important aspects of their business and less on the administrative work.”, says Chris Hamilton, Co-founder of Argentis Group.
The Free Crown Land Sales Offset Report shows all current Alberta Crown Land Sales and Saskatchewan Crown Land Sales with active wells on a section basis surrounding crown land sales. Also included with the report is a historical look back over the last 3 years with production can include gas, oil and condensate and current operator.
Oil and gas companies are now in a position to identify potential future drainage against their lands, quickly identify new drilling prospects, keep tabs on currently drilled lands and reduced time prospecting. The report is in Excel format and comes out approximately every 3 weeks to coincide with crown land sales.
