COVINGTON, KY – Kentucky author Kathy Witt was a featured guest at “70 Years of Gone With the Wind: A Re-Premiere,”
Witt’s new book, The Secret of the Belles, reveals a secret relating to Margaret Mitchell, actress Ona Munson and two girls connected by a love of Gone With the Wind and cache of decades-old letters – as well as a possible curse. She was one of four featured authors.
“Connie Sutherland, the director of the Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum, created a once-in-a-lifetime event,” said Witt. “I was thrilled to be a part of it.”
Gone With the Wind cast members in attendance were Ann Rutherford (“Carreen O’Hara”), Mickey Kuhn (“Young Beau Wilkes”), Greg Giese (“Bonnie Blue” and “Beau” at infancy), Patrick Curtis (“Baby Beau”) and Geneva Miller Roberts, who played an extra in the Twelve Oaks barbecue scene and was making her first appearance at a GWTW event.
Herb Bridges, preeminent GWTW authority and author of several books relating to Gone With the Wind, was also in attendance. Warner Bros. artist Joseph Yakovetic made an appearance as well, showing the gorgeous 70th anniversary artwork he had been commissioned to paint in conjunction with the film's anniversary.
