Tampa, Florida - HD Interactive, a web development company, has released its new gaming project ChessJam to the public for free until 2010.
ChessJam is a 3-D chess game that uses rich graphics and sound effects to create an interactive gaming experience. The game is compatible with Mac, Windows, and Linux, making it available to almost everyone. Once ChessJam is downloaded, members can enjoy all the features it has to offer.
ChessJam members are able to play timed games in 10, 30, or 60 minute lengths against other ChessJammers from over 90 countries. ChessJam users can also practice their skills with robots. There is a challenge court where players can commune and chat as well.
“We feel like ChessJam takes online chess gaming to a new level,” said Sean Carey, CEO of HD Interactive. “It offers all the features chess players want and need in a fun, 3-D environment. We haven’t found anything else like it.”
To date, more than 1000 people have downloaded the application. The makers of ChessJam hope to increase the number of members substantially.
Updates are already in progress, including ChessJam 2.1, which allows multiple games to be played at once. The programmers are also working on adding a forum, organizing tournaments, and correspondence play to enhance the gaming experience.
