1st Galaxy helps BBC Children in Need go with a bang

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 19, 2009 - A spectacular firework and laser display has been specially designed by Nottingham-based 1st Galaxy Fireworks for Friday’s BBC Children in Need live event, hosted by BBC East Midlands and held at the National Space Centre in Leicester.
1st Galaxy (http://www.galaxy-fireworks.co.uk/ ) is ready to make BBC Children in Need an explosive night, with weeks of planning taking place for a display which will see over 100 huge fireworks being launched in just one minute.  The display, which is being provided by 1st Galaxy on a not-for-profit basis, has been created to accompany a ‘yet to be revealed’ live musical act on stage that will be aired live on BBC1.
‘This will be the sixth year we have supported Children in Need, only this year we have the laser show to bring another dimension to what has always been a traditional firework display,’ said Lee Smith, Display Manager for the company.

Working in the entertainment business, it’s amazing to be able to give something back and to raise a smile, especially for such a fantastic cause like Children in Need.
‘We are really excited to be working at the Space Centre – it’s a brilliant venue for a fireworks display and I’ve been thinking of all kinds of appropriate fireworks and lasers to use to create a massive and magnificent one minute display.’
Lee will be leading a 10-strong team to fire the show, which includes 1st Galaxy’s special wireless firing system from America, 3 large laser heads and fog machines and over 100 huge calibre shells, all to be launched in just one minute and clearing the rocket tower at the Space Centre.
The fireworks display will begin at 9pm, with the laser displays beginning at approximately 6:30pm and occurring throughout the evening.  1st Galaxy Fireworks has recently undertaken over 50 displays during the bonfire season including Nottingham Castle.
