Lakeland High School’s Special Education Class have adopted the New Jersey Mission of Honor

New Jersey Mission of Honor in their mission to make sure that the cremated remains of fallen heroes are properly interned. There are thousands of deceased veterans whose remains remain unclaimed.

Lakeland, NJ - The Students of Lakeland High School’s Special Education Class have adopted the New Jersey Mission of Honor has their fundraising project for 2009.  The students will be presenting the collected funds tomorrow, Thursday November 19th at 12:30 PM in the auditorium. The funds raised will be used to help the New Jersey Mission of Honor in their mission to make sure that the cremated remains of fallen heroes are properly interned. There are thousands of deceased veterans whose remains remain unclaimed.

The Special Education Students of Lakeland High School accepted a challenge and has demonstrated compassion for our fellow Americans who have been left on shelves at many funeral homes throughout the State of New Jersey. Fran Carrasco, a member of the New Jersey Mission of Honor stated, “This is very important to these students, and we admire their commitment to being good citizens. Many people don’t even take the time to think about what happens to some of our veterans, but these students do. They are amazing and should be honored for their service to others.”
The students will be presented with New Jersey Mission of Honor Hats and ID cards making all of them honorary members of the New Jersey Mission of Honor.
