North Carolina Author Reads from Tuscan Memoirs at Capri Restaurant Wine Dinner in Raleigh

Nov. 19, 2009 - PRLog -- Raleigh, North Carolina --- Capri Restaurant on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh offers a five course, five wine Italian dinner on the third Wednesday of every month. This Wednesday, Italian American Nancy Stolfo Corti, was invited to read an excerpt from her new book, a memoir, in part about the years she lived in Tuscany.

About thirty guests were present for the five course meal which started with a seafood salad, continued with stuffed peppers, a pork dish and ravioli, and ended with espresso and a berry torte. The food was not ordinary Italian fare; it was very refined. Little lamps at each table, and red walls like Pompei, created a warm atmosphere.

Before dessert, Nancy Stolfo Corti stood up and presented her book, a black and white photo with a lady in a bright red dress on the cover. She read the excerpts with the voice of an experienced story teller, including the Italian accent for the conversational lines.

"It was wonderful to be back at Capri Restaurant," said Nancy, "when I worked here years ago it was during a hard time in my life, so it feels great to be back here and celebrating the launch of my book. I've come full circle."

"We are very proud of Nancy," the restaurant owner, Dino Pinelli. Pino Papalia, the former owner, who sat at the author's table, echoed the sentiment. "You are welcome back anytime," Pinelli told her.
