Awnings are usually fully retractable and weatherproof, made from premium grade sun and rain resistant fabrics. When extended, no other supports are required and you have full instant control over your shade area. Folding Arm Awnings are ideal for space constrained areas and when equipped with wind sensors, also suit balconies.
Cantilever designs are supported by strong spring tensioned arms. Easy to use fully motorized or crank handle systems give full control over the shade area.
Wind sensors which conveniently extend or retract the awning automatically. The awning's projection depends on the width. For example it is unlikely that a 4meter awning will extend out beyond 3.6m
11:1 gear box, 0-90 degree pitch control can also be a feature. Once retracted the awning can be neatly hidden in a box or cassette. Cassettes can be supplied in colours to blend in with the building's facade and in part or full designs.
When measuring for an awning, walls need to be suitably load bearing to be able to support a heavy awning under some wind pressure.
Other options to consider are shade sails, outdoor blinds, indoor light filtering blinds or standard canvas awnings.
