The problem:
Consider the amount of time needed to clear out the closet where the attic access is, the mess and suffocating attic heat and fiberglass insulation that is disturbed, or worse yet a deep blanket of blown in cellulose insulation to wade through. Or suppose once you find the crawl space access and clear out the closet - crawl into a space that is wholly inadequate for a grown man - only to find a maze of heating ducts, return air trunks and drain lines that render access to your site impossible.
What should be a very simple in-and-out project has now become a long day’s work, but it was not possible to know in advance. If you’re working time and materials, you probably will be fine, provided you didn’t estimate substantially less prior to starting. If you contracted the project, you’re working for free for the extra time.
The solution:
Stay in the room; don’t go under the house or in the attic. Do everything from the comfort of the place you are working in. I have invented a product that will make this process so easy, you will feel like a serf who has been freed from slavery. It will now be a very uncommon event when you will EVER have to go into an attic or crawl space again!
This product will be less than 2% of your total project cost but you will be substituting this product for one you probably already use, so it will actually cost you nothing more, but will increase your efficiency by 50%. This product will change the way you work much the same way a paper clip changed the way office workers handle paper.
