Kalamazoo, Michigan – Milestone, an innovator of rapid microwave tissue processors and digital imaging products launches the TissueSAFE, a formalin-free vacuum packaging and transfer system for tissue specimens originating from the surgical suite. Make your workplace safer, gain control of fixation start time, and allow flexibility for downstream molecular testing and tissue banking.

Surgical tissues are packed using one of two sized specimen bags, which contain document pockets. Nursing staff can use preset protocols and a simple user interface to rapidly seal tissues in a “life-like” state. Sealed specimens are then held at 4˚C awaiting pick-up by histology. Tissues received by grossing personnel are easily opened and can be resealed for case archiving
