The one thing that militaries around the world depend upon is
the unflinching discipline of its soldiers. The whole Idea of basic training is to instill discipline, discipline at all levels, discipline under pressure, discipline under fire, discipline even when in doubt.
But wait a minute... wasn't the State of Israel founded in the wake of the smoke of WWII and Nazi Germany? and was it not clear that the war crimes trials did not accept the most common excuse given "I was just following orders"?
History will not judge these decisions by the prime minister to uproot Jews from their homes contrary to previous Israel policy, contrary to the Bible, contrary to historic and contemporary norms, contrary to what is right. Perhaps those willing to go to prison are better off in the long run, given those involved , even if they were "just following orders" also bears responsibility.
Post traumatic stress disorder has been experienced by soldiers who in the past followed orders of Shimon Perez to uproot Jews from their homes simply because they are Jewish. This racist policy is not being employed against Arabs, or Christians, nor should it be, it is only being perpetrated against Jews for being Jews in order to satisfy a racist International body. People have a civic duty to resist racism no matter what form it comes in, racism against the strong is just as morally bankrupt as racism against the weak. Benjamin Netanyahu complains that disobedience in the military could mean "collapse of the State" the truth is the policy of uprooting Jews from their homes will do more to collapse the government coalition and remove him from office and not the state, it is precisely these policies of using the military to attack Jews for being Jews and not using the military to bomb Iran is what makes this entire episode by Bibi Netanyahu unconscionable. Bibi "Leave the people of Israel alone and Bomb Iran Now!"
