Nov. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- WHITE PLAINS, NY – The Westchester Bank reached another milestone in its young but eventful history with the grand opening today of its new White Plains branch. Located at 464 Mamaroneck Avenue in downtown White Plains, the new 2,200-square-foot branch location is The Westchester Bank’s second branch in Westchester County.

“We are delighted to celebrate the opening of our new branch in downtown White Plains. With this new location, we are able to expand our presence into central Westchester County and offer area businesses and consumers the kind of highly personal banking services that have become the hallmark of The Westchester Bank,” said John Tolomer, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Westchester Bank.

Speaking at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Mayor Joseph Delfino, Mr. Tolomer said, “White Plains is one of the great success stories in our region. This city is undergoing an unprecedented renaissance with exciting new residential housing, retail stores, restaurants and entertainment. We’re absolutely thrilled to be here.”

Mr. Tolomer added, “Our strategy is to target key geographic areas in Westchester where we feel we have a competitive advantage. White Plains is the ideal market for our kind of personal banking.”

“No matter what economic climate the country experiences, White Plains remains a destination for residents, companies and corporations because every amenity they could possibly want is already here. I welcome The Westchester Bank as the newest member of our community and look forward to the personalized service our residents and businesses deserve,” said White Plains Mayor Joseph Delfino.

The past year has been an exciting time for The Westchester Bank. In April, the Bank officially opened its new 8,000-square-foot headquarters and branch at 2001 Central Park Avenue in Yonkers. Founded in 2008, The Westchester Bank has established a reputation for providing highly responsive and personal service to the area’s small and mid sized businesses. Currently the Bank’s assets total over $133 million with deposits in excess of $115 million with more than $58 million in commercial loans.

“We can offer businesses and consumers everything the big banks do yet with the local touch that’s missing at the larger banks today. Many local businesses find our brand of personal banking to be like a breath of fresh air,” Mr. Tolomer said.

The Westchester Bank utilizes the latest technology and online services to provide convenient service to its customers. For the Bank’s business customers, there’s the remote capture service that allows you to safely and securely deposit checks directly into your account without ever leaving your office. In addition, the Bank’s website features an Online Banking Center where customers can manage their accounts and make transactions online. A New York State Chartered and FDIC insured commercial bank, The Westchester Bank offers a comprehensive line of banking services to businesses and consumers including business and personal checking, business lending, commercial mortgages, savings accounts, CDs, money market accounts, Interest On Lawyer Accounts (IOLA), attorney escrow accounts and tenant security accounts.
