One winner and one runner up for the KatWalk Contest, an amateur voice-over contest held by Such A Voice (a voice-over training and demo production company), were announced yesterday, November 16th.
The KatWalk Contest was open to registrants for one week, during which time contestants submitted either a commercial script or narration script over the phone to Such A Voice. Over 1,300 people submitted voice-overs to compete for the first place prize of the Masters Program Package, a voice-over training package. The runner up received the company's next comprehensive voiceover training package, the A+ Package.
Such A Voice posted the Top 5 Finalists to their blog, where participants could listen to their voiceover demo and vote on the best voiceover. The winner of the Masters Program voiceover training package is Marshall Blansfield, from Sumner, Washington, will train with Such A Voice producers and coaches in January, 2010. He will also record his winning submission in the studio for use on Such A Voice's website.
The runner up is Rachel Heffron from Chatham, New Jersey. Heffron will train in the early spring 2010 and will get her professionally recorded and mastered demo at the end of her voiceover training. She will also record her winning narration piece for use of Such A Voice's teleconference webpage.
