Follow on Google News | Books from Santa Campaign Provides Hope for Childrens Impacted by AIDSOnline retailer launches campaign to get books and other necessities under the tree for the most innocent victims of the AIDS epidemic.
By: Marcella Woodard Located in Tennessee, Hope House is a non-profit agency that envisions being the catalyst for change in the lives children who are infected or affected by the HIV virus, through their parent or caregiver who is either HIV+, or has already died from AIDS related illnesses. “We are proud to help make a difference in the lives of children in our local community. As our business reaches a number of parents, teachers, and givers this Holiday Season, we also want to bring awareness to the amazing work that Hope House is doing,” says BookWorm’s owner, Marcella Woodard. Since there are already many organizations that donate toys, www.book-worm- Hope House began in 1994 as a daycare. But, because most of the families affected by AIDS live in disadvantaged areas surrounded by extreme poverty, lack of education, and substance abuse, Hope House recognized the need to expand its doors to include complete Social Services. Now they are equipped to provide GED classes to parents, housing assistance, respite care, and more. About Hope House: Hope House is the only facility in the State of Tennessee designed to meet the unique needs of HIV affected children. The mission of Hope House is to improve the quality of life of HIV-impacted children and their families by addressing their educational, social, psychological, and health needs.
