The South Euclid Humane Society will present the free and open to the public ninth annual "Pets Light Up Our Lives Ceremony and Home for the Holidays Adoption Event" Sunday, December 6, 2:00 p.m., northwest corner of Green and Mayfield Roads garden area. A tree will be decorated with lights honoring living and deceased pets. Rabbi Susan Stone, of South Euclid, will offer a blessing for pets. The public is invited to this event, including pets.
To donate and have pets' names listed in the program book, send donations and dedications. Donations of $5 per named pet benefit the South Euclid Humane Society. To donate and have pets' names (living or deceased) listed in the program book, send donations and dedications, up to 10 words, by Friday, November 27 to the following. Include contact phone number. At a free and open to the public reception in City Hall, 1349 South Green Road, following the ceremony, homeless, adoptable pets will be available to good homes. There is an adoption fee. Refreshments will be available.
Proceeds from the event will be used to organize spay/neuter programs for pets of South Euclid residents and to provide medical assistance for homeless animals. South Euclid Humane Society representatives will discuss the importance of spay and neuter and other information regarding the care and treatment of animals. The South Euclid Humane Society is a not-for-profit volunteer organization dedicated to finding homes and providing the proper care for homeless, abandoned, injured, and sick animals. Five million healthy adoptable animals were destroyed in the U.S. last year, because there were no homes for them. For more information, call (216) 291-8773.
