The Danish concept of Julefrokost

The food, the booze and the copy room – welcome to the Danish julefrokost.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov 17, 2009 -
The Danish tradition of julefrokost translates best into the English word Christmas lunch.
However the Danish julefrokost is rather extreme in terms of activity, purpose and moral hangovers.

Read on and you will be fully updated on the beautiful concept of julefrokost.

Let’s start with the food. For some Danes the food constitutes the core value of julefrokost. In this case 10-15 dishes plus desert is not a rare sight. The food varies from different forms of fish over boiled pig heads on to a lovely chocolate pudding.

Of cause all that food needs to be flushed down with – yes! Alcohol. Snaps, beer, vine, spirits, what have you.

The more modern concept of julefrokost is to a continuously greater extent based on alcohol and lots of it. Julefrokost has become the one day where it is anticipated and somewhat accepted to drink till you fall of your chair.

With all that alcohol feelings are bound to be set at large. And they are!

When people say julefrokost they think the copy room. What exactly happens in the copy room and why the copy room at all?

The copy room a.k.a. the room of extramarital sex has for years been a preferred room when the feelings between co-workers just can’t be suppressed no more.

As to the question of why the copy room at all, I suggest you try a Danish julefrokost.
