Ras Kidus, one of Reggae’s finest singers and performers, will host his Benefit Holiday Jam, Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz on Sunday, December 6.
Featuring Rankin Scroo (Hips Like Whaa), Courtney Undah Privilege (Go Green), Mista Majah P (Too Many Funerals), Brimstone (Brimstone & Fire), Spliff Girl (I Scream Love), and Roots Force Band. Doors open at 9pm.
”It will be a Holiday Jam to kick off the festive holiday season, connect with friends,” producer Stephanie Slade said.
“If you are an actor or actress, bring your headshot if you are interested in a film role in her next major motion picture,” Ms. Slade, Emmy Award winning video producer said.
Ras Kidus is a stroke victim. He was paralyzed on his left side three years ago, but sings again thanks to intensive physical therapy. He has a brain aneurysm and it is not known how it can be treated. Ras Kidus, like many Americans, has no health insurance.
“Thank you for showing me some love as I fight back from the stroke,” Ras Kidus said. “My specialists are still evaluating the best action based on the most recent CT scans,” he added.
Ras Kidus is facing a crossroads of proceeding with a preventative brain surgery to coil or clip the aneurysm, or continuing to live a healthy, stress- free life, with the love surrounding him from his friends and fans.
“This heartfelt show of your support is not only a financial contribution to Ras Kidus and his well being, but a very important part of his healing process. You can make a difference. Come "Show Some Love' for Ras Kidus and full joy a collaborative HOLIDAY JAM,” Ms. Slade said.
