The book is published by Achilles Shield Protection (ASP), a small Saskatoon based company that provides innovative safety and life skills training for North American families. The Journals of Master Wu series is the flagship creation of the Kwae Zhen Universe, a martial art based multi-media franchise created and developed by ASP. Prior to hitting the shelves in major bookstores across Canada the book will be sold by select martial art schools across western Canada beginning with member schools of the Taekwondo Alliance of Alberta.
The book series’ central story arc concerns the ongoing struggle between two factions; The Council and The Order. On the one hand The Council seeks to maintain balance in the world, while on the other The Order strives to foster chaos. This struggle takes place behind the scenes of our everyday contemporary world, hidden from the vast majority of people. As in most juvenile fiction, the protagonists in this series are for the most part children, albeit children with extraordinary martial art skills. Dragon Calms the Fire is a fast paced action adventure that hooks the reader from the beginning and carries them into the mythology and philosophy of the martial arts. Although the book is written for children, the story will capture the imagination of young and old alike.
