From “nothing” To “something:” God’s Grace Is Still Saving The Youth.

Sometimes we often ask ourselves, “Where is God in the midst of all this chaos?” Believe it or not, “God is yet still on the throne and in the miracle working business,” says upcoming Christian rap artist, Larry P.

God is doing some marvelous things with today’s youth. The salvation of Jesus Christ is truly being revealed amongst today’s society. Larry P (a.k.a Larry Porter), being a young minister of music, has been through the experience of life’s trials and seen the outstretched hand of God. Larry P- “I am truly a young witness of how God reaches way down in the depths of sin and brings darkness to light. From my experience of walking with Christ, I noticed that God enjoys the glory of taking “nothing” and making it into “something.” I remember in September 2004, at the age of twenty one, I was practicing all types of ungodliness. Whether it was fornication, drugs, gambling, smoking, alcoholism, or other lustful things, I was just another “nothing” in which sin felt normal. Before finding Christ, I started out in the secular world as a “nothing” young rap artist who was trying to make it big with my talent. But little did I know, God had something better in store for me. One night on my way to the casino, I had made a stop by my brother’s house. I noticed that my cousin, who is a minister, was also there. He was talking about God and how awesome His power is. At that point of my life I knew God, but wasn’t ready to turn loose the lustful desires of my flesh, therefore; I was anxious to leave by that time. The more I stayed there, the more I felt the presence of God surrounding me. Then shortly after, my cousin gave me a scripture to read, and once I began to read it……. BOOM! I felt the Word of God intensely pricking at my heart and His voice was talking directly to my spirit. All I could hear in my spirit was: “Your way is not the way. I have a great work for you and time is running out. It’s either now or never!” I then quickly surrendered my life to God and that’s when the Holy Spirit came and filled my belly. After I had left from my brother’s house, I noticed I still had the cigars that I was addicted to in my back pocket. I knew then I was a new creature, because the urge to smoke was now gone. For me to be able to throw away an entire pack of a recent addiction, revealed to me the true power of God. WOW! I was now transformed into “something!”  So yes, God is still working wonders in our youth and He is yet on the prowl for other young ”nothing” vessels he can use for His glory!”

From that point on Larry P began to use his talent to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ and felt that there was a need to encourage others with his testimony. After accepting his calling into the ministry of the Christian Rap genre, Larry P testifies by letting others know his past and where God has brought him from.

Larry P has a powerful message and is very grateful for God blessing him with this special gift. Since salvation, God has also blessed Larry P to be multitalented. Not only does Larry P just rap, but God has also given him the ability to write, produce, and mix his own music.

With the digital release of his first single (“FOR EVERY TEAR”), from his upcoming debut album (THE NEGLECTED TRUTH), Larry P delivers the truth and the truth only.
