Singer Songwriter Launches Fund Drive to Record New Album

Sure, PBS does fund drives, but singer/songwriters? Musician Dan Coyle believes in the power of positive thinking and that people will pledge their support for his next album before he's recorded a single note.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Nov 16, 2009 – "I've recorded three albums previously where I played the instruments and did the singing myself, and now fans are asking for an album featuring a full band," said the Chicago-based Coyle. "I have everything lined up to do that except the funding for recording, mastering, tracking, initial duplication and production."

Coyle, currently on tour throughout the United States, added that donations will be rewarded with different levels of premium prizes--much like a PBS pledge drive.

"Premiums for donations start for amounts as little as a dollar and go up to two thousand dollars," he said. "The goal for the fundraiser is three thousand dollars by December 18. Some of my favorite premiums are signed copies of the album and DVD, a live show for you and your friends with me on my own or with the full band."

Coyle ups the ante with a highly unusual lifetime deal.

“Anyone who donates at the $100 or above level by Friday November 20th 2009 at 11:59 p.m. will receive tickets to any of my shows, in any city, no matter what for life,” Coyle added.

Other premiums include digital downloads of the album before its release, autographed copies and links on his website http://www.DanCoyle.com. The site has a complete list of premiums for album sponsors.

"I know this is an unusual move," Coyle said. "But I think when people realize just how far a relatively small amount of money can go it will motivate them to support us.”

“My main objective is always to reach the fans and do whatever I can to build a real relationship with them,” he said. “I always want to show them how much I appreciate everything they do. Without them I couldn’t play music as my job.”

He added that a professional photographer will be on hand to make a photo diary of the making of the album as well as a DVD documentary. "I want to share the creative process visually, much the same way I do on my podcast."

Indie artist Coyle has released three albums, "Briar Street Sessions," "Briar St - The Acoustic Sessions" and the critically acclaimed "Random Thoughts and Incomplete Sentences" available on ITunes, CD Baby and his website www.DanCoyle.com. He also produces a podcast about his life as a musician called "Inside the Sunshine Factory," available on ITunes.

Coyle's music has been described by the Red Onion News as "...refreshingly original yet uniquely familiar. Not copyright infringement familiar – more like comfy couch familiar. Dan Coyle delivers a clean melodic sound reminiscent of Simon and Garfunkel but with a decidedly contemporary feel."

"It's an acoustic mix of Paul Simon and Bob Dylan, with some soft and hard edges to it." Coyle said.

More information about Dan Coyle and a complete list of premiums is available at www.DanCoyle.com. Those wishing to sponsor the album's recording may donate through PayPal using any major credit card, debit card or checking account (PayPal acct not required to donate through PayPal).

Coyle has performed for intimate venues across America as well as large festivals including Kansas City RiverFest 2009, which drew 50,000 people over two days.

Coyle's 2009 tour includes Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Austin, Omaha, Des Moines, Chicago, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Rochester, NY and New York City.
