DIGITAL EXCHANGE BENEFITTING CIVIL SOCIETY TO LAUNCH IN SWITZERLAND
Zurich, Switzerland – November 17, 2009 Digital Donation Exchange Association (“DDX”) is pleased to announce the launch of its operations on December 01, 2009. DDX allows all people with a Swiss mobile phone number to make contributions to listed civil society companies via SMS or Text Message by entering a beneficiary code name and amount between CHF1.00 and CHF100.00 and sending this information to the number 339, which corresponds to the digits DDX of the telephone keyboard. Agreements have just been signed with the Swiss-based mobile telephone operators SWISSCOM, ORANGE, and SUNRISE to enable a seamless service for contributors and listed entities alike.
According to Mr. Joel Rohfritsch, Executive Director and Project Manager of DDX: “It has been fascinating to start this venture especially in view of the very useful market needs it addresses to both contributors and listed civil society companies benefitting from this service.” It is anticipated that DDX will extend its services to contributions that are web-based in the course of the year 2010.
