For the first time Microsoft have taken their technologies (in this case 2008 and vista) and created certifications that are applicable to specific jobs. They respond to the needs of companies and prove to an employer that a person has the capability to carry out a particular job or function.
The new Microsoft Certifications consist of 3 series and 2 credentials, providing a simpler and more targeted framework for IT managers to validate core technical, architectural, and professional skills.
To keep these new-generation certifications relevant, Microsoft will expire credentials when mainstream support for the corresponding technology platforms is retired so recertification in each of the series will be necessary.
As companies replace equipment with the new 2008 products, there will be an increase in the number of IT professionals needed who can work with these platforms. By being able to demonstrate your skills and expertise, you’ll be better positioned to provide those services.
