Low Budget South African Thriller Seeks Investors and Wants to Break New Ground in SA Film Industry

Fir3storm Industries, a new film and media company dedicated to imagination and innovation, are currently raising financing for their first feature film "The 5". The company produced a short film called “X” in 2008, which is available to view online on several sites including; http://www.dailymotion.com/
“The 5” is a smart, labyrinthine thriller about five female assassins and a special government investigations task force. Working against each other, they try to uncover a dangerous conspiracy that involves an influential criminal syndicate and a mighty pharmaceutical company -- who created a virus that they tested on unsuspecting members of the general public. With this, the assassins and the special investigations task force unravel the clues and put the pieces of the puzzle together, only to find out just how potentially world changing this entire conspiracy really is.
With the main concept created by Emile Meyer (co-founder of Fir3storm Industries, who also directs and produces), the script was written by acclaimed, Scottish, horror novelist William Meikle, Emile Meyer and Louise Cochran-Mason (who also produces). The film will introduce a new generation of gifted young South African actors and actresses, as well as showcasing some of South Africa’s more established acting talents. “The 5” will also feature some of South Africa’s up and coming metal and rock bands. The film’s score will also be something special, as it will be composed by the talented Ryhno von Hagen, who will be collaborating with rock acts M16 and Shotgun Love to create a sound that is as unique and original as the film it underscores.
Fir3storm Industries are now in the pre-production stage of the film’s production, and are trying to raise between R200,000 - R500,000 for the film. This allows for good production values without having to break the bank, keeping this film, ultimately, a low-budget picture. Fir3storm Industries have created various investment opportunities as well as other incentives that they’ve made available to any investors (from large companies to individuals)
With “The 5”, Fir3storm Industries have a simple concept in mind: to confirm the power of independent filmmaking in South Africa and to illustrate to everyone that with a great story and with lots of ambition and determination ANYONE has the ability to create a film that can both be commercially successful as well as artistic.
