By: Mint 400 Records If money is what is inhibiting great art from being made then Mint 400 Records has come up with the solution. By signing bands like Any Day Parade, Fairmont and Theodore Grimm Mint 400 has been able to put out quality EP's and Full Lengths all recorded by the bands on very small budgets and get them out to every place online that sells MP3's through help from their distributors Massive Music America and IODA. The bands that have a budget for physical merchandise have vinyl and other cool things available and the ones that don't, well, where as before a band like Theodore Grimm hardly played shows and didn't really have a CD available now has their whole catalogue available everywhere online. On a daily basis they are finding new fans all over the globe. Self sufficient artists such as Mint 400 Records newest find Jesse Ian Dunn are the future of the industry. Artists like Jesse can record using his home computer and Mint 400 dares you to find any difference in production in his Dec. 15th release The Very Best Of Jesse Ian Dunn and the acoustic acts of the 90's like Elliot Smith. The quality is superb and because it has not put any financial hardship on the artist it ensures a happy artist that can continue to put out as much material as he wants in the future. In fact after the Dec. 15th release of his debut Jesse has already expressed interest in creating a solo piano EP and a future full length all before summer 2010. As well on the slate for winter release is England's The Mai 68's a mix of 90's brit rock and cute girl pop as well as the recently released Bombs hailing from Toronto with their own version of thrashy 90's brit pop. I know what you are thinking, are these guys all about the brit pop only? The answer in short is no, on the other end of the spectrum is Fairmont and Theodore Grimm who have a sound that is all their own but rooted in 60's garage rock and 70's classic rock with touches of the 90's and modern indie rock. Then enters Any Day Parade with their own brand of country garage rock mixed with perfect harmonies almost as if Johnny Cash and the Beach Boys got together to make a record. Recently the Mint 400 Records New Jersey artists all got together for an amazing showcase at Jersey City's The Iron Monkey. The show was a complete success as the artists Any Day Parade, Jesse Ian Dunn, Fairmont and Theodore Grimm all played their hearts out to a packed and enthusiastic crowd. Mint 400 Records has had a big year releasing over a dozen records and has plenty more to come. You can find Mint 400 Records online at www.myspace.com/ End
