FORT MYERS, Fla. – With the downturn in the economy, businesses have to find new and innovative ways to reach customers on their own time and in their own homes or businesses. Taking the traditional door-to-door approach and making it more personal and accessible, a Fort Myers young entrepreneur has launched on-demand business introduction videos at The I Pages website.
“Our new website gives businesses an opportunity to introduce themselves to potential customers in the comfort of their own home or business, on-demand, when they are truly interested in the product or service,” said David Welsh, creator of The I Pages. “I wanted to make it possible for companies to market themselves face-to-face before the customer picked up the phone or went down to the store.”
Imagine being able to tour a home for sale without leaving the comfort of your living room. Now real estate agents will be able to enjoy that functionality at the I Pages website.
“Real estate representatives can take a prospective buyer through the house or showcase an apartment or home for rent without having to even pick up the phone or coordinate a tour,” Welsh said. “The I Pages would be a great website to help the local housing market recover.”
The I Pages business profiles offer businesses a dedicated web space where potential clients can view videos, see locations, obtain ratings and even hours of operation. The site will also have a free section for video resumes, video job postings and even free classified ads for jobs, items for sale and personal ads.
“The I Pages classified ads will be the most powerful part of the website for visitors,” Welsh said. “Not only will they be able to demo or show off items for sale with real video, but buyers will be able to see the item for sale and be able to check out the item’s condition and quality without even having to see it in person. Also businesses advertising jobs on The I Pages can take prospective employees on a tour of the office before the first interview. The I Pages will truly be a new revolution in how classified ads are placed on the Internet.”
With an extensive sales background, Welsh quickly realized that it was difficult originating sales made simply with a phone call. Seeking a more personal way to reach customers at home with the same information, he created The I Pages and made video advertising a possibility.
“I realized that maybe if they could see me it would be easier for me to explain my services and have that little bit of human connection,”
But don’t get him wrong, The I Pages is not created for uploading commercials. In fact, he said businesses should focus on standing out from the competition by making their videos memorable. That could mean being fun, funny, professional, seasonal, loose or what ever would provide them with that extra edge.
“We are not looking for slick commercials for this site,” he said. “I would love for a retailer to walk through his store and talk about the different types of merchandise available or for a restaurant owner to talk about a menu item and then prepare it on the video. I want to make this a personal introduction, not a television commercial.”
