Hamm was recently honored for his contributions in the classroom and for exemplifying the standards and practices of accomplished educators.

In the interview, Hamm shares some of his insights and inspirations, as well as a handful of his favorite books, and leadership lessons.

Hamm has coached a number of very successful debate teams, and also shares insights about the impact these experiences have on the kids who participate in the teams. He also talks about how students share in the learning equation, often in the role of teacher to the teacher.

Finally, Hamm shares his thoughts on the line that teachers need to draw with engagement in social media, especially when it pertains to current students.
