Vista Solutions Group Implements eRecording as Part of Statewide Clerk’s ePortal Project

Nov. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- Kristy Clark, Leon County Clerk of Court Official Records Supervisor, Leon County, “The implementation of eRecording Department of Revenue Liens in Leon County has been an absolute success. Although just implemented, we are anticipating substantial cost savings, an increase in our Clerk’s productivity, as well as a much faster payment for the processed liens.”

The eRecording component works in conjunction with the statewide ePortal, developed by Vista Solutions Group, the Department of Revenue (DOR), and the Clerk’s.  Through the usage of the statewide ePortal, Florida’s Court Clerks have provided DOR with a more efficient option, enabling the electronic transfer and recording of liens between the Department and the County.

Clark, “Previously all communication between the DOR and the County would be through USPS mail.  Annually, the Florida DOR files roughly 80,000 property tax liens by sending them through the mail to the appropriate Clerk’s office.  This new method enables us to process liens and funds electronically, resulting in a much shorter, more efficient, and less costly process.”

With the new process, the DOR transmits an electronic file containing all the pertinent lien information to the ePortal.  The ePortal accepts the lien file and creates a PRIA (Property Records Industry Association) package which is then transmitted to the County for clerk approval.  Once approved, a return file is created for DOR to request payment from the Department of Financial Services to the County.
