Bangin Bhangra Sauce (named after the Indian dance Bhangra made famous by artists such as Apache Indian and Punjabi MC), is a tomato based, everyday use, sauce with a hint of tamarind, mint, chilli and some special herbs and spices. Introduced into the international market in August 2009 via distributors Sun Mark and produced in Norfolk UK, Bangin Bhangra Sauce has had significant success via the independent retailers and its owners have now set their sites on the big supermarkets.
When asked why they created the sauce, Paul Sagoo, Director of Operations at Lemon Group International (owner of Bangin Bhangra Ltd) said "There was a natural gap in the market for a new sauce of Indian origin which didn't just blow your head off with chilli but actually had an intensive and exciting moorish flavour which could accompany all types of foods not just ethnic".
When asked of their association with Masterchef Live, Paul said, "We are proud to be associated with Masterchef Live which hosts a bedrock of culinary talent and quite frankly is the place to be when it comes to great tasting food. We will be giving our customers the chance to sample and buy the sauce that 'makes food bangin'. He added, "We have been very excited with the reaction we have had to date and we are currently negotiating tie-ups with high street chains to have the sauce associated with their respective products."
It has been rumoured that a Dragons Den entrepreneur has shown a significant interest in the product and judging by the success of the association of the program with Levi Roots and Reggae Reggae Sauce, this can only be seen as a very positive sign that Bangin Bhangra Sauce could be the next whirlwind success story. When asked if these rumours were true Paul Said, "There have been some discussions in this regard but it would be unfair on both parties for me to say too much ahead of any deal being struck, but needless to say, we are excited by all types of commercial interest in the sauce".
Masterchef live takes place on Friday 13th November through to Sunday 15th November at the Kensington Olympia.
