A good WoW Mage Leveling Spec will have additional powers that help improve upon the attack spells of the mage. Spells like Ignite and Impact alone are not real strong, but if they are combined with powerful spells like Blast Wave or Flamestrike, they inflict additional damage and can also stun enemies. Flame Throwing is another good example as it allows the mage to attack from further away and do more damage before targets get into melee range.
