Face It is a group exhibition exploring the psychological threads that lead to the desire for, and creation of, portraiture in art.   Works by Paul Arsenault, Laqui, and Robin White seek to duplicate not only the physical likeness of their subjects, but also to capture the essence of human nature and personality that so often eludes the camera.   Face It asks the following questions:

What is the motivation and psychology behind the act of translating individual likeness through an artistic filter?

Why would one desire to have their likeness interpreted by another human being when modern cameras and photo editing programs can capture the best angle and most flattering poses?

Why would an artist choose to paint portraits of others as a personal creative outlet?

Are all portraits simply a reflection of the artist or can a portrait be detached from its maker and exist on the merit of its subject alone?

An interesting dimension is added to the exhibition in the form of rejected portraits.  Why have these images been disowned by the very people who have lent them their visage? How are they faulty?  Or, are they too accurate?  Will these orphans be adopted by a stranger lured in by some previously overlooked charms?

Krasa Fine Art is the latest aesthetic pursuit for illustrator and curator Anna Visnitskaya, and will be making its exhibitionary debut at the Fountain Art Fair in Miami, FL, Dec 3rd – 6th, 2009.  Drawing on her Russian roots, Ms. Visnitskaya chose the name “Krasa” which translates from Slavonic to mean beauty. However, being fully aware of beauty’s fleeting nature, the artwork represented by Krasa is multi-dimensional; first capturing the viewer’s attention with the aesthetics of color and form, then amusing with clever concepts and intelligent design. Krasa’s artists are distinguished not only by talent and ingenuity, but also by a desire to push the boundaries of fine art, and count sculptors, photographers, and video artists within their group.

Krasa Fine Art is the latest aesthetic pursuit for illustrator and gallerist Anna Visnitskaya, and will make its exhibitionary debut at the Fountain Art Fair in Miami, FL, December 3rd – 6th, 2009. Krasa’s artists are distinguished by talent, intellect, and a desire to push the boundaries of fine art.

“The anti-thesis of the mundane captured by an artist and presented to the world as energy, color, love, rebellion, concrete – art is boundless and I cannot be limited by convention, propriety, or skepticism.” Anna Visnitskaya

The intellect plays a major part in viewing a Krasa exhibition – nothing is as it first appears. The works are multi-dimensional; first capturing your attention with the aesthetics of color and form, then delighting with clever concepts and intelligent design.

Krasa Fine Arts offers a percentage of all sales to charity and is currently supporting the Ocean Mammal Institute in its mission to protect our oceans and the life within.
