SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is one of the sponsors of 13th Annual Roundtable, Refining and Petrochemicals in Russia and the CIS Countries (http://www.wraconferences.com/2/4/articles/61.php?), which will take place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from December 1 – 3, 2009.

A priority objective of this year’s roundtable is to discuss how to accelerate the pace of modernization and upgrade programs of refineries and petrochemical plants to boost their competitiveness and profitability, as well as how to overcome technological and investment challenges, achieve cost-efficiency and identify new opportunities for project partnerships.

On December 3, 2009, SGS will participate in the Roundtable’s Session 5: Achieving Operational Excellence at Refineries and Petrochemical Plants in Russia and the CIS and Delivering their Products to the Market. In this session, Vladimir Ovcharov, Head of the SGS GOST R Competence Center (http://www.gost.sgs.com/gost_index_v2.htm), will give a presentation about “Managing Your Risks in the Russian Regulatory Environment - Inspection, Testing, Verification and Certification.”

SGS is accredited by Gosstandart of Russia (former name of the Federal Agency on the Technical Regulation and Metrology) to provide GOST R Certification Services.
