I Honor My Mother, Do You?

Nov. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- Mother's Day is celebrated only once a year, but this is something I do not care when it is about acknowledging that woman who took care of me during my first years... and so on.

This is just a small gift to say thank you mother for all your sleepless nights preparing all that my brothers and I needed. For all your hard work to give us our food, our study and our home. Nobody knows what a mother is able to do in an extreme situation. She is able to give even her own life for her children.

I pay tribute to my mother and all the mothers of the world gathering just some examples of their love:

- Edwarda fell into a diabetic coma. She has not recovered from it until now, her mother, Mrs. Kaye O'Bara, has taken care of her since then 24 hours a day. Although she lost her husband and counting only on her grandson and her sister, Mrs. O'Bara continues day by day feeding her daughter every two hours and changing her position every hour with hope that someday she will be back.

-Gianna Beretta was diagnosed with womb cancer when she was pregnant of her fifth son. Gianna had to go to urgent surgery to save her life. She accepted the surgery only with the guarantee that the life of her daughter was going to be preserved. Six months later, on april the 21st 1962 she gave birth to Gianna Emmanuela. On April the 28th, after a week of atrocious pains, she died, but she saved her daughter's life against her own.

-Claudia Ahumada, a 28 years old woman was speaking on a telephone box in a crossroad while she held her daughter in her arms. Suddenly, a truck out of control appeared, jumped the sidewalk and destroyed the telephone box. Claudia died instantly but one second before, she threw her daughter out of the box to save her. The small child was taken to the hospital with trauma, but conscious and out of danger.

These are just some of a large list of cases of hero women. But not less commendable are those thousands of thousands of mothers spending their lives to the bones to give their children a decent future. Mothers going to bed when everybody is sleeping and waking up before the sunrise to gain some time to time. Mothers cooking, sewing, helping their kids with their homework, taking care of their clothes and even their personal hygiene and besides working to earn the sustenance of their homes.

This article is a tribute to all those mothers in a day which is not the "mother's day", although all days are mother's days when it is about the job of a mom.
