Masstech Group announced today that Bob Coleman has joined the company as vice president of engineering.
Mr. Coleman will assume leadership for all engineering and research & development activities related to the Masstech’s entire family of products and will report directly to CEO and President, Joe French.
Mr. Coleman is a veteran in the engineering software industry with a proven track record of building organizations with innovation and quality. He brings over 25 years of experience in leading engineering teams of enterprise-class technologies.
Most recently, Mr. Coleman served as president of his own engineering company performing technical due diligence on behalf of venture capital groups interested in acquiring the assets of high technology companies.
Prior to that, Mr. Coleman was vice president of software development at Silicon Optix, where he grew the local software group from 5 people to a multi-site software development team of 54 credited with developing the Emmy Award winning Teranex Video Computers and Silicon Optix Hollywood Quality Video (HQV) branded products.
Mr. Coleman has also held a range of executive management positions, including country manager of Kaleideskape Inc. and assistant vice president, research & development of SiCon Video.
In his new assignment, Mr. Coleman will focus on developing new product offerings and readjusting existing Masstech products to the dynamically changing requirements of the global broadcast market. He also will be responsible for restructuring the engineering department and expanding it in the near future with new talent.
