Samantha Lester, a member of the Cinema City International Film Festival Grant Program recently completed a short film titled, ”The Only Way out “. This World War II drama, written and directed by Gary Brockett, centers around two Jewish sisters faced with the horrors of a Nazi Concentration camp. When they are asked to disrobe and enter the gas chamber, a sympathetic Jewish Prisoner, trying to escape by hiding in a shipping crate, displays an unexpected act of bravery.
Samantha plays opposite Savannah, the lead character who is a wealthy, young Jewish Woman. “Samantha really shows her talent as an up and coming actress in this film,” said thirty year veteran film producer, Suzanne DeLaurentiis. Paul Divito stars as the heroic Jewish prisoner. Other cast members include Sylvia Lester, Sharon Ryan, Deborah Rombaut, Danielle Lester, and Catherine Tallichet , Eric Kowalski, Mallory O’Donoghue and David Michaelson and Marc Mazur.
“The Only Way Out” is slated for the Film Festival circuit in Mid-December 2010.
About Samantha Lester: Samantha Lester got her first taste of musical theater as a toddler, following her mother around the stage in her walker. Acting, singing and dancing were a way of life for Samantha, who grew up in Texas. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles and studied at The Actorswork, ESI Network, Henke Acting Studio, Talent To Go, AIA Studios, and New York Film Academy.
Some of Samantha's skills include advanced dance, musical theater, pop and classical singing, languages and sports. Her exceptional talent and training have paid off in a number of lead roles in both theater and film, and caught the attention of producer Suzanne DeLaurentiis. DeLaurentiis accepted Samantha into the Cinema City International Film Festival Mentorship Program and is currently working with her on all aspects of acting and career development.
