Sharon Ryan, a member of The Cinema City International Film Festival Grant Program recently co-starred in the short film titled, ”The Only Way out “. This World War II drama, written and directed by Gary Brockett, centers around two Jewish sisters faced with the horrors of a Nazi Concentration camp. When they are asked to disrobe and enter the gas chamber, a sympathetic Jewish Prisoner, trying to escape by hiding in a shipping crate, displays an unexpected act of bravery.
The cast includes other members of the CCIFF Mentorship Program. Savannah Ward, the star of the film plays a wealthy, young Jewish Woman alongside co-star Samantha Lester who plays her sister, and Paul Divito co-stars as the heroic Jewish prisoner. Sharon has a memorable role as nurse Haas. Other cast members include Sylvia Lester, Deborah Rombaut, Danielle Lester, Catherine Tallichet , Eric Kowalski, Mallory O’Donoghue, Marc Mazur, Jesse Cyr and David Michaelson.
The film is slated for the Film Festival circuit in Mid-December 2010.
About Sharon Ryan: Sharon Ryan broke into the industry and received her SAG certification when she starred in a GTE commercial filmed on the Magic Mountain roller coaster. After 53 “takes” Sharon still holds the record for the number of consecutive rides by one person. She has since worked on many commercials including an international Pepsi-Cola spot co-starring Denise Richards, for which she also worked as Denise’s hand model. She has done spots for American Airlines and California State University. Sharon has trained theatrically with Syd Field, Ned Manderino and Ivanna Chubbuck and commercially with Buddy Powell, Vicky Goggins and Squire Fridel.
