“I am honored and privileged to have had the opportunity to serve this country as a United States Marine and to be a small part of its 234 years of history. I am continually blessed to take what the Corps has taught me and be able to use those skills to continue to serve this Great Country and its Veterans.
America has remained free because of her veterans and this day rightly honors all who served the United States in defense of liberty and freedom.
Americans should take time out of every day to reflect upon and be thankful for the service, selfless devotion, and steadfast resolve of members of our armed forces as they fight to keep us all free and safe during the War on Terror.”
Michael Wardell is a medically retired 17-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in Japan and Africa with the Department of State. Wardell is married with two children.
