aquaonline has been appointed by the Eastern Cape Tourism Board (ECTB) as its exclusive digital agency. This win, after a rigorous four-way pitch process, adds to the other key wins for aquaonline in 2009 that includes Stanlib, Pick n Pay and Nokia.
This win is testament to aquaonline’s travel vertical digital expertise and adds to aquaonline’s current travel client portfolio, which already includes Southern Sun and Avis.
aquaonline will assist the ECTB by creating awareness and promoting the region locally and internationally in the lead up to 2010 FIFA World Cup. The agency will be responsible for overall digital strategy, redesign and development of the ECTB web portal, digital media and digital campaigns.
According to aquaonline’s MD, Brent Shahim, “We have operated in the travel sector for some time now. Winning the digital business of such a forward-thinking tourism body in the shadow of 2010 is testament to our sector insights and affords us the opportunity to directly promote tourism in this key region in South Africa. “
Shahim adds to that: ”The Eastern Cape is so rich with wonderful experiences that are largely undiscovered. We can’t wait to start promoting this great region.”
Vuyelwa Mantyi: Deputy Director: 2010 Projects Coordination, Economic Development and Environmental Affairs comments, “I’m very excited with the proposed strategy and am looking forward to seeing real results that translate into increased tourism revenue for the region – not just clicks on a website.”
