Ray Bryant began playing the piano at the age of six. He has accompanied many leasing players such as: Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Coleman Hawkins, as well as singers Aretha Franklin and Carmen McRae.
Music is part of Ray Bryant's family. Musicians Kevin Eubanks and Robin Eubanks are his nephews. His brothers are Len Bryant, who plays drums and is also a singer, and the late Tommy Bryant was a bass player.
