Just in time for the Holidays, the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown is sharing its top five tips for companies that are trying to plan their Holiday party on a budget.
“These days everyone continues to be cost-conscious, so we thought it was important to offer these ideas to our corporate neighbors in the area,” said Rich Friedman, General Manager of the DoubleTree in Tarrytown. “Most companies want to show appreciation for their employees at this time of year, and these tips will help any size group plan the perfect Holiday party, and still stay within their budget.”
1. Book a lunchtime event. Lunch is a lot more cost-effective than dinner, and most people will drink fewer alcoholic beverages at lunch.
2. Share space with other companies. If another firm is having its Holiday party on the same date, hotels can often discount prices on menus that they’re offering for parties being held on the same day.
3. Opt for a cash bar instead of open bar. Choosing to have a cash bar – whether at lunch or dinner – can save from $20 to $40 per person.
4. Choose a restaurant setting for smaller groups. If you have a small group, ask about booking space in a restaurant, instead of a banquet room. The cost for having the event in the restaurant will be significantly less.
5. Book the party for January. Fridays and Saturdays in December are high demand times, so you may want to opt for a New Year’s Holiday party some time in January instead.
The DoubleTree Hotel can accommodate any size party from small groups of up to 70 in its Bistro Z restaurant, to larger groups of up to 500 in its Grand Ballroom, the largest in Westchester County. Holiday party menus range from $25 to $90 per person.
