Duluth, Ga – EnerGov Solutions announced today that Charleston County, SC is this year’s recipient of an annual award recognizing outstanding accomplishments in government enterprise automation. The award was presented at the 2009 EnerGov User Conference held last week in Atlanta, Georgia. Charleston County went live 10 months ago with new enterprise technology that enables the connection of the County, 15 municipalities and 3 satellite offices to the entire regions regulatory land use, permitting and licensing processes servicing the over 650,000 citizens within.
Charleston County successfully implemented the EnerGov .NET Land Management and License & Regulatory Management software solution along with EnerGov GIS, MobileGov Inspections, and EnerGov's Citizen Access Portals for land management and licensing. Central to this accomplishment is a direct interface with a central geo-database built around ESRI’s ArcGIS Server technology that houses all critical land-based details of the region.
In the 10 months since going live in December of last year, Charleston County issued over 44,000 permits and processed over 8,000 plan review cases within the new EnerGov .NET system. They manage around 13 billion dollars of gross receipt licenses and have renewed over 1,000 business licenses online within EnerGov Citizen Access resulting in over $1,000,000 collected over the internet in license renewals alone.
