SilkWeb Releases a New Series of eLearning Courses for Occupational Health and Safety Training.

Last week we gave an overview of SilkWeb's interest and concern for workplace safety. Hazardous working environments have inspired SilkWeb to release new series on occupational health and safety training available on Coggno’s marketplace portal

PRLog - Nov. 10, 2009 - Phoenix, AZ, SilkWeb Consulting and Development launches a new series of eLearning for occupational health and safety training on Coggno’s online marketplace page to help improve the workplace’s environment. Last week an article was released acknowledging SilkWeb’s concern and attention to a very common and serious problem. As a result they are releasing another series of training that includes specific courses on forklift training, HazMat training, HIPAA, and focusing on prevention of workplace violence.
When dealing with heavy machinery, risk factors are always high especially when workers are not properly trained. The problem that a lot of organizations are facing when it comes to training is the lack in money to provide in depth training to all of their manual laborers. Lengthy videos cut down on productivity as well as being out of date, therefore not correlated to the newest machinery and operational tutorials that may be needed to train for such use.
HazMat training is also very imperative to employees’ safety and well being. Employees who handle hazardous materials every day, whether it is packaging, loading, shipping, or unloading, must be properly trained on HazMat regulations and the correct way to handle hazardous materials as well as what to do in the case of an emergency. Ill trained employees are not only a threat to themselves but to others around them in the workplace or on the roads.
In light of the lack in health care, HIPAA, Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Awareness training is especially important for employees to be informed and educated about their healthcare safety and security plans. This training will aid in comprehension of exactly what their plans entail, who it will cover if they change jobs and many other imperative facts that employees need to know.
Another serious issue that can cause a major problem in the workplace is violence. This type of behavior is inappropriate and should be held as a zero tolerance policy within any organization. Care and attention should be brought to this issue as assault and endangerment due to violence happens regularly within many organizations.
As a result to ill trained employees and unprepared organizations, SilkWeb is identifying these numerous cases and address that major repercussions may follow due to negligence in training and negligence in the employees’ well being. SilkWeb has created a solution to this problem by creating training that is specified to each occupational position and requirements needed before entering into such working environments, as well as developing training that explains appropriate professional behavior in the workplace to ultimately prevent endangerment to the employees, and cut down on the risk that any organization may be charged with.
