Rankbydesign recently announced a new Firefox plugin called DigmyLink. This free plug-in allows both SEO’s and Webmasters to view internal links and the resulting pages they point to, all within the web browser. The plug-in reads the linked page's info without actually clicking on it and loading the page.
Web developer and author of DigMyLink, Erik Zetterberg explains "if your anchor text is pointing to a page with a matching or similar title and content, your pages will naturally become more important to the search engines". Erik continues to clarify "by doing a simple check using a tool like Digmylink, often common SEO mistakes can be avoided."
After Digmylink is loaded into Firefox, the user highlights anchor text (linked text), and a small window is displayed near the link reporting its URL, title, description and content of the page the link is actually pointing to. From here a webmaster or SEO can see if the link is relevant to the page without browsing to it.
Erik explains "link relevancy is one of the key factors to what makes a quality site and is a critical step that is often overlooked when creating a optimized website. Its often a time consuming task to check each and every link, so I hope this plugin can save some time for the web developer."
DigmyLink is free tool for webmasters and is available at http://www.rankbydesign.com/
