During this time of year many people are focused on planning their Thanksgiving dinner but with the strains of the economy everywhere, the food pantry is low. Eden Organix an Eco-Conscious Boutique & Spa located in Highland Park, NJ is hosting a spa party on November 13th from 5-8 pm to raise food for the Highland Park Food Pantry. Eden Organix is co-sponsoring this event with the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners of Middlesex/Somerset counties.
Beth Leech the Coordinator of the Highland Park Food Pantry states, that “we are seeing more people at the food pantry and with the cold winter season upon us this is the time of year when people really need food, who wants to choose between heating their home and eating?” Beth says, “We greatly appreciate our partnership with organizations and businesses that help us in the community, like Eden Organix.”
Valerie Robinson, the CEO & Founder of Eden Organix believes it’s important to partner with organizations that help our community. At Eden Organix we like to “party with a purpose”! Our spa party will feature free makeup consultations, chair massages, mini facials and hand treatments. Valerie says, “We hope to raise at least 50 pounds of food for the Highland Park Food Pantry or more. We want to make a difference here in Highland Park, and we hope it will also create an awareness and ignite a spark in people to volunteer or donate.
The pantry accepts any non-perishable food or toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc), but we especially need:
* Hot and cold cereal
* Peanut butter
* Canned fruit
* Dry or soy milk
* Spaghetti sauce
* Soup
* Pasta, rice, and macaroni
* Tuna
* Other canned meats
* Canned vegetables
* Baby food
